Formed products made of lightweight wood fibre insulating material, for use e.g. as constructional blocks, obtained by mixing fibres with isocyanate binder which is then cured e.g. by transporting the fibres with moist air

Formed products with a bulk density of less than 200 kg/m3> are made from lightweight wood fibre insulating material treated with an isocyanate binder which is cured by using gas which initiates the reaction of isocyanate groups to transport the treated fibres or by passing such a gas through the material at the uncompressed fleece stage. A method for the production of formed products (I) with a bulk density of less than 200 kg/m3> from lightweight wood fibre insulating material, by treating wood fibres with an isocyanate binder, forming to give a dry fleece, precompressing to a bulk density of 40 kg/m3> and hardening the binder. The binder is hardened by using a stream of gas which initiates the reaction of isocyanate groups to transport the glue-treated fibres, or by passing such a gas through the fleece at below 100[deg]C. An independent claim is also included for formed products (I) as above, packed in an auxiliary forming material used in the production of (I).
