Proteases are added to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) along with calcium and thrombin to activate latent TGF-beta. The proteases include plasmin, calpin, MMP-9, thrombospondin, transglutaminase, the mannose 6-phosphate receptor (M6PR), furin, substilisin-like endoproteases, and integrins. Dermatopontin can also be added to the PRP to enhance its biologic activity. |
