PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of reducing the capacity of a memory used for an image enlarging process corresponding to thin-out scanning. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging means 102 for generating image data by imaging a subject; image data storage means 105, 106 for storing the image data of two lines, based on the image data; and an interpolation operation means 108 for generating interpolation image data corresponding to the thinning rate in the vertical direction of the image data generated by the imaging means 102, based on the image data of two lines stored in the image data storage means 105, 106.
