PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power output device capable of preventing deterioration of emission due to repeated unsatisfactory active control, in regards to determination of deterioration of an air-fuel ratio sensor. SOLUTION: This power output device is provided with an engine connected to an exhaust pipe, the air-fuel ratio sensor for detecting air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture in the exhaust pipe, an air-fuel ratio changing means for changing air-fuel ratio when the predetermined precondition is satisfied (refer to Step S10), a monitor means for monitoring output of the air-fuel ratio sensor as a result of a change of air-fuel ratio by the air-fuel ratio changing means, and a determining means for determining deterioration of the air-fuel ratio sensor on the basis of a result of the detection by the air-fuel ratio sensor when the predetermined effective data selecting condition is satisfied (refer to Step S24).
