PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor having improved sealing performance while allowing easy press-in work for a gas introduction portion of the rotary compressor and preventing damage to members. SOLUTION: A gas introduction pipe 9 which is pressed and mounted in the gas introduction passage for a cylinder of the rotary compressor is formed of a steel and has a diameter shrunk portion 9a at one end and a copper annular band portion 9b provided on the outer periphery of the diameter shrunk portion 9a in parallelly spaced relation. The annular band portion 9b can be also formed with copper plating. When the diameter shrunk portion 9a of the gas introduction pipe 9 is pressed into the gas introduction passage for the steel cylinder, the copper annular band portion 9b has contact therewith in a less contact area and so smaller press-in force is required and the copper annular band portion 9b has close contact therewith after press-in at two places, therefore greatly improving the performance of sealing the gas introduction passage.
