PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color sorter which enables a pick-up image of a particle by a CCD sensor to be displayed on a panel, and a sensitivity adjustment for a faulty article to be carried out looking at the display. SOLUTION: The color sorter has a contour treating means outputting contour binary data from the pick-up image and a contour threshold, a first defect judgment means outputting a faulty point of a particulate having a predetermined area or more of a portion over a first threshold as first defect pixel binary data, and a second defect judgement means outputting a faulty point of a particulate having a portion surpassing a second threshold larger than the first threshold as second defect pixel binary data. The first defect pixel binary data are displayed on a thin glow monitor. The second defect pixel binary data are partially displayed on a coloring monitor. The contour binary data, and the first and the second defect pixel binary data are combined and displayed on a particulate displaying monitor.
