PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive configuration of a image reading/recording device, which is capable of preventing a lid and bearings from being damaged even when the openable lid is opened wider than a prescribed angle. SOLUTION: A shaft provided to the lid is pinched between two parts so as to hold the lid. When the openable lid is opened wider than the prescribed angle, one of the two parts constituting the bearing is disengaged from the other, so that the shaft is released, and the shaft and the bearings are protected against damage.
