PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emit light uniformly in the longitudinal direction with a sufficient quantity, and realize it at a low cost. SOLUTION: A light source unit 1 has arranged two linear fluorescent parts 11 and 12, which are connected at individual one ends, and a plurality of twin fluorescent lamps 10, where sockets 13 are attached to the other ends of the two linear fluorescent parts 11 and 12, are arranged in line. A light diffusion sheet 14 is arranged so as to be positioned between a detector 20 for receiving emission light of a plurality of twin fluorescent lamps 10 and the twin fluorescent lamps 10. A plurality of fluorescent lamps 10 are arranged so that two linear fluorescent parts 11 and 12 face the light diffusion sheet 14. The socket 13, as seen from the light diffusion sheet 14, is arranged so as to be positioned on the back of the other ends of the two linear fluorescent parts 11 and 12 of the other twin fluorescent lamps 10.
