<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a stain on an optical disk without taking time prior to start of a recording operation and to conduct recording with laser output which is appropriately adjusted in accordance with the stain on the optical disk during the recording operation without requiring a special high speed processing means that is normally required to immediately reflect the detection of the stain onto the laser output. <P>SOLUTION: Data to be recorded are intentionally divided and recording is intermittently conducted in terms of a divided data unit. Utilizing the recording stop intervals generated during the intermittent recording operations, stain detection of the disk surface is conducted during the recording operations using a stain detection means without employing the special high speed processing means and adjustment of the laser output is conducted accordingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
