<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode having a superior electrode property in which internal resistance is sufficiently reduced and an energy density of an electrochemical element can be increased easily even when the thickness of an active material containing layer is made 100 μm or thicker, and an electrochemical element having the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A compound particle P10 contains an electrode active material particle P1, a conductive assistant particle P2, and a binder particle P3. Each active material containing layer is formed through a dry type sheet forming process obtaining a sheet at least containing complex grains by applying a heating treatment and a pressurization treatment to the powder containing at least the complex grains obtained at a granulation process, and forming the powder into a sheet, and an active material containing layer arrangement process in which the sheet obtained is arranged at a portion where an active material containing layer of a current collector is formed.
