<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the amount of the lubricant supplied to the surface of an image carrier from either increasing too much or decreasing too much, in an image forming apparatus which has the image carrier formed with a toner image on the surface and an agent coating application means for applying a lubricant to the surface of the image carrier and obtains the recording image, by transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier to the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricant, applied on the surface of the image carrier 3, is removed by a cleaning blade 21 according to the image area rate of the toner image formed on the image carrier 3, by which the amount of the lubricant on the image carrier 3 is regulated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
