<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vehicle security system suppressing power consumption, and issuing an alarm with high credibility before a criminal breaks into a vehicle, that is, at a stage before the vehicle is damaged. <P>SOLUTION: The security system includes a trigger sensor 1 detecting a person in a first detection area near the vehicle, and a core sensor 2 detecting a person in a second detection area narrower than the first detection area. The core sensor 2 is controlled to be started according to a result of detecting a person by the trigger sensor 1, and stopped when no person is detected thereby.
