PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning apparatus for positioning a second block 2 to a first block 1, which positioning apparatus can reduce a cost for forming a positioning hole 23 on the second block 2 by simplifying the shape of the positioning hole 23. SOLUTION: A plug portion 24 protrudes from the first block 1 so as to be inserted into the positioning hole 23 provided on the second block 2. A straight cylindrical surface 43 to be brought into close contact with the inside peripheral surface of the positioning hole 23 is provided on the outside peripheral surface of the plug portion 24. The plug portion 24 has an abutting portion 60 to be brought into contact with the positioning hole 23. When the second block 2 and the first block 1 approach each other, the abutting portion 60 is pushed by the positioning hole 23 and moves toward the base end of the plug portion 24. The straight outer surface 43 of the plug portion 24 expands and comes into close contact with the inside peripheral surface of the positioning hole 23.
