PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transport device, switching the transport direction of transported article at a comparatively simply constituted switching transport part while the device includes a thrust applying means for applying thrust to the end in the lateral width direction of the transported article. SOLUTION: This transport device includes: a blower type support means for feeding clean air to support the transported article 2 in the horizontal attitude or the substantially horizontal attitude in non-contact state; and the thrust applying means 34A. 34B for applying thrust in the transport direction to the transported article 2. The transport direction of the transported article 2 is switched so that the transported article 2 transported in the main transport direction X at a main thrust applying part 34Baa constructed in one side drive type in which thrust is applied to one end part in the lateral width of the transported article 2 in the main transport direction X is transported in the sub-transport direction where the main thrust applying means 34Ba is not provided at a sub-thrust applying part 34Bd constituted in one drive type in which the thrust in the sub-transport direction Y is applied to one end part in the longitudinal width of the transported article 2.
