PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transmission of starting shock of a starter motor to a rotor with a magnet without a special shock absorbing means while using a compact magnet type outer rotor multi-pole generator as a generator to be used in an engine drive type working machine. SOLUTION: In an engine drive type generator, the magnet type outer rotor multi-pole generator having a rotor with a magnet 23 connected to a crank shaft 17 together arranged on an outer circumference of a stator supported by a fixed structure body 18 of an engine has a fly wheel 108 attached to another end of the crank shaft 17 and has a starter gear 28 meshing with a pinion 29 provide on an output shaft of a starter motor 30 formed on an outer circumference of the flywheel 108.
