PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce engine load when the number of revolutions of an engine is lowered with simple and inexpensive structure, in a construction machine in which a drive shaft of a hydraulic pump is connected with an output shaft of the engine. SOLUTION: In the construction machine, the drive shaft 24 of the hydraulic pump 23 is connected with the output shaft 21 of the engine 20, and a clutch 22 is interposed between the output shaft 21 of the engine 20 and the drive shaft 24 of the hydraulic pump 23.
