PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide resin with reduced ion level such as sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and chlorine ions. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the solid polyimide resin comprises addition of a varnish of the polyimide resin into water, wherein the total contents of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and chlorine in water are≤80 ppm, preferably furthermore an acid the pKa of which is less than 7 is added.
