<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fluctuation of the velocity of a belt due to the sinking of a driving gear for a belt-like image carrier unit, irrespective of load fluctuation, to accurately position a vertical direction, and to prevent the deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus provided with the belt-like image carrier unit 1 wherein an image carrier 3 constituted of an endless belt is rotated while being stretched to be wound between the driving roller 7 and the stretching member 8, and for forming an image by forming a toner image on the image carrier 3, thereafter, transferring the toner image to the recording medium, a positioning member 10 for positioning the driving gear 5 for the driving roller 7 is fixed on the image forming apparatus body frame 9, the positioning member 10 is brought into contact with the bearing part 4 of the driving gear 5 so as to receive the driving reaction force of the driving transmission gear 6 on the main body frame 9 side, and the sinking of the driving gear 5 is prevented, irrespective of the load fluctuation of the belt 3, and accurate positioning is performed in the vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
