<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction liquid which is best suited for inkjet recording using an aqueous pigment ink and makes available a high-definition and high-quality level image showing high image density; no bleeding and less conspicuous feeling of granularity; and remarkable rub resistance, even when commercial-grade paper such as common stationery and coated printing paper is used as a recording medium, and an ink set and an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording method, a reaction liquid containing an ink flocculant, a hydroxyalkylcellulose and water are used and further, is more effective in terms of rub resistance by adding a polyolefin resin particle. In addition, it is possible to effectively prevent defects such as deviation of a dot forming position, deterioration of dot roundness and increase in the feeling of granularity from occurring by making the surface tension of the reaction liquid more significant than the mean value of the surface tension of the aqueous pigment ink to be used together with the reaction liquid.
