<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore an apparatus even when the update of an OS start program fails for realizing update again. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming apparatus, when it is decided that the rewriting of a program fails, a CPU 100 starts a recovery program from an SRAM 102 by a CE switching part 105 whose status is held by a battery 107, and writes back FROM data saved to an HDD 108 to an FROM 101, and performs preparation to update the program again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
