PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross flow type heat exchanger with excellent heat exchange efficiency. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger comprises metallic tubes 2 for passing a fluid and a plurality of metallic radiating fins 3 juxtaposed vertically to the longitudinal direction of the metallic tube 2. The metallic tube 2 is formed by alternately superposing a plurality of fin members 5 having the radiating fin 3 and a tubular part 4 and mutually connecting the tubular part 4 of each fin member 5. The tubular part 4 is formed integrally with the radiating fin 3 by press molding a metallic plate 5a between a first die 6 having a recessed part 8 of a shape according to the outer surface shape of the tubular part 4 and a protruding part 9 of a shape according to the inner surface of the tubular part 4 followed by plastically deforming. The tublar part 4 is gradually reduced in diameter from the base end part toward the tip part. The metallic tube 2 is formed by mutually superposing a plurality of tubular parts 4 and 4 over the whole length. The fluid may be a liquid. The metallic tube 2 includes a groove part 12 for retaining a liquid membrane, which is formed on the inner surface along the longitudinal direction of the metallic tube 2.
