PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat power generating device capable of efficiently recovering energy of exhaust heat by enlarging an input voltage range. SOLUTION: Output voltage of a thermoelectric element 13 is made increased or decreased. A converter main circuit 21 to perform transformation action in a single direction can be used for transformation in both the normal and reverse directions by use of switches SW1 and SW2 as switching means. When the output voltage of the thermoelectric element 13 is within a prescribed range from the voltage of a battery 30, the switches SW1 and SW2 in a switching circuit 40 directly connect the thermoelectric element 13 to the battery 30 as a stop mode.
