PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detonation generator capable of generating a high temperature and high pressure detonation wave and repeating generation of the detonation wave a plurality of times at high speed irrespective of fuel pressure of a fuel supply source. SOLUTION: A combustion chamber 17 is formed by being surrounded by a cylinder 12, a cylinder head 16 provided on one end side of the cylinder 12, a piston 13 reciprocating in the direction of an axial line 11 of the cylinder 12 in the cylinder 12. Inside of the cylinder 12 communicates to an ignition chamber 21. The piston 13 compresses mixture of fuel and oxidizer in the combustion chamber 17 in a compression stroke in which the piston 12 moves toward the cylinder head 16 to highly pressurize mixture of fuel and oxidizer in the ignition chamber 21 and the combustion chamber 17. Highly pressurized mixture of fuel and oxidizer in the ignition chamber 21 is ignited by an ignition plug 22 and burned.
