PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic water generator capable of reducing the shortening in the service life of a molten metal. SOLUTION: This electrolytic water generator 100 is provided with: an electrolytic cell 1; the molten metal 2 melted by electrolysis in the electrolytic cell 1; electrodes 10 and 11 applying electric current to the molten metal 2; a power unit 5 applying electric current to the electrodes 10 and 11; a current sensor apparatus 3 detecting the value of the electric current applied to the electrodes 10 and 11; and a controller 4 controlling the value of the electric current applied by the power unit 5 based on the detected electric current value. In the device, the controller 4 holds the optimum pattern value of the value of the electric current applied by the power unit 5, and performs control to the power unit 5 so that the value of the electric current to be applied next time is made close to the optimum pattern value, by which the electric current is applied to the molten metal 2 so as to conform to the optimum pattern value to the molten metal 2 increased in electric resistance. Thus, the application of the electric current irreducibly minimum is made possible, so that the reduction of the shortening in the service life of the molten metal 2 is made possible.
