The invention relates to a plug adapter (1) for a hip endoprosthesis, comprising a cone-shaped receiving element (2) formed specifically for the prosthetic shaft on the one side and an external cone for connection to the joint ball on the other side. The plug connection has increased stability. Said increased stability is achieved by means of a U or V shaped recess (3, 6) in the plug adapter, which results in increased elasticity of the cone seat on the prosthetic shaft. Another improvement is achieved in the clamping joint by virtue of the fact that the internal cone merges into a curvature.
