TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING METHOD OF BIT STREAM

A method for transmitting/receiving bit streams is provided to reduce manufacturing cost by excluding an UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) in a slave apparatus and to easily vary the number of data bits to be transmitted by implementing the UART in software. A host apparatus(200) includes an UART(220) and a slave apparatus(100) includes a general purpose input terminal and an interrupt generator. The host apparatus transmits bit streams to the slave apparatus. When one bit stream is inputted at the general purpose input terminal, it is determined whether the first bit is a start bit. If the first bit is a start bit, the interrupt generator is enabled and adjusted to generate an interrupt signal at every transmission periods between the host and slave apparatuses. The data bit to be transmitted is detected from the bit stream based on the interrupt signal from the adjusted interrupt generator.
