<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device with which a query method for querying a device can be selected when necessary. <P>SOLUTION: A policy-driven system 400 is provided for querying a device 414. The system 400 is provided with a client 402 having an interface for supplying queries the device 414, an interface for receiving queries from the client 402, and a manager 406 having an interface for sending the queries to the client.
