PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that, when image data recorded in a memory card through compression using a predetermined image format are converted into the image data with the other image format after the recoding has been completed, degradation of the image quality is unpreventable. SOLUTION: A digital camera comprises a production means for producing the image data with a plurality of the image formats in regard to an image obtained by one-time shooting, a recording means for recording in a memory the image data with the plurality of the image formats produced by the image producing means, an image format selecting means for selecting a predetermined image format from among the plurality of the image formats, and an eliminating means for eliminating the image data with the predetermined format selected by the image format selecting means from among the image data recorded by using the plurality of the image formats.
