PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can effectively suppress temperature drooping, to realize high-speed fixing property of a belt nip type fixing device on a high level. SOLUTION: There is provided the fixing device comprising a fixing belt module 6 comprising a fixing roll 1 having a heat source 2, at least one or more fixation-side extension rolls 8, and an endless fixing belt 10 rotating, while being extended among those rolls and a pressure belt module 16, including an endless pressure belt 21 which abuts against the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt 10 only within a range of a part where the fixing belt 10 is wound around the surface of the fixing roll 1, to form a nip part N for fixation with the fixing belt 10; the fixing belt module 6, including fixing belt heating means 8 and 9 of heating the inner and/or outer peripheral surfaces of the fixing belt 10 at some position other than the part of the fixing belt 10 which is wound around the outer periphery of the fixing roll 1.
