PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work holder capable of simplifying its structure so as to drive both an upper jaw portion and a lower jaw portion for opening and closing by means of one actuator. SOLUTION: The work holder is provided with a body member, and an upper arm 25 and a lower arm 26. The upper arm 25 has an upper jaw portion 25a at a swinging end on the body member by swingably supported around a first fulcrum 27. The lower arm 26 has a lower jaw portion 26a corresponding to the upper jaw portion 25a at the swinging end by swingably supported on the body member around a second fulcrum 28 at an upper arm edge side farther than the first fulcrum 27. The upper jaw portion 25a and the lower jaw portion 26a can firmly hold a plate material W by mutually moving both jaw portions in separating or approaching directions. The upper arm 25 is swung with a swinging means, and the lower arm 26 is also swung via a connecting member 47. One end of the connecting member 47 is swingably connected with the upper arm 25, and other end of the connecting member 47 is connected with a swing transmitted portion 26b located on an opposite side with the lower jaw portion 26a against the second fulcrum 28 on the lower arm 26.
