BEARING DEVICE FOR STEERING COLUMN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact between an annular retainer and the side inner surface of a bearing storage case by the movement of a roller. SOLUTION: This device is provided with the annular bearing storage case 2 fitted on the inner peripheral surface of a steering column 1 and a bearing 5 stored in the bearing storage case and supporting a steering shaft 3 to the steering column. An outer ring 10 is designed that its both axial ends abut to the inner surface of the bearing storage recess 14 of the bearing storage case and also are formed into a smaller inner diameter than the diameter of the circumscribed circle of the roller 6 so that the axial movement of the roller is restricted by both the axial ends.
