PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan rotation speed control method preventing generation of peak pressure and pressure hunting causing damage to a pump-motor system. SOLUTION: Rotation speed of a cooling fan driven by a fan motor and cooling fluid to be cooled is controlled by controlling the pump-motor system operating the fan motor with working fluid supplied from a fan pump driven by an engine. At a time of engine start, the pump-motor system is controlled to start fan rotation speed from a minimum fan rotation speed Nmin (Step 1), the minimum fan rotation speed Nmin is maintained for at least several seconds (Step 2), the fan rotation speed is gradually increased from the minimum fan rotation speed Nmin after at least several seconds (Step 3), and the pump-motor system is controlled to shift to a target fan rotation speed Ntf after at least several seconds.
