An airbag module with a module housing, an air bag folded in the module housing, a holder connected with the module housing, whereby the air bag web is clamped between the holder and the module housing and is thereby secured, and with a cylindrical gas generator secured on the module housing exteriorly thereof, the gas generator having a radially projecting out-flow crown that extends though the housing wall, the airbag web, and the holder into the interior of the airbag, is characterized in that two retaining elements (24, 18) are provided for securing the gas generator (14) on the module housing (10), the retaining elements engaging the end sides of the gas generator (14) and being connected with the module housing (10) and/or with the holder (12).
