<p>A manual gear-type speed change apparatus for a motor vehicle has many problems to be solved, which are such as idle rattle, traveling rattle, agitation of engine oil, and shift operation force. A speed change apparatus (1A) has an input shaft (3), an auxiliary shaft (4), an output shaft (5), a main drive gear train (10), a gear train (11-14) for the speeds from the first to the fourth, a gear train (16) for the sixth speed, a gear train (9) for reverse, a sleeve shaft (20) where a first speed drive gear (11a) and a reverse drive gear (9a) are fixed, a sleeve shaft (30) where a first speed driven gear (11b) and a second speed driven gear (12b) are fixed, four synchronizing mechanisms (21-24), etc. The first speed, second speed, and reverse are set in advance as plural specific speed change stages in a low speed range, each of the gears of the gear trains (9, 11, 12) in these specific speed change stages and the sleeves (20, 30) are set such that they can idle. The each of the gears and the sleeves (20, 30) are kept in a floating state when the apparatus is in the neutral state and when the motor vehicle is traveling at a speed between the third and the sixth speed.</p> |
