Each of the pixels (10) of a light control apparatus (8) includes a first storage element (18) for storing a luminance value of a current frame; a second storage element (16) for storing a luminance value of the next frame; and a first transistor (14) that is a switch element for changing the luminance value of the pixel (10) by transferring the luminance value stored in the second storage element (16) to the first storage element (18). While the pixels (10) are emitting lights in accordance with the luminance values held by their respective first storage elements (18), a control part (60) sequentially turns on second transistors (12) of the respective pixels (10) to write the luminance values of the next frame into the second storage elements (16).
