A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved color purity and optimizing address voltage margins for phosphors by permitting front dielectric layers to have different thicknesses in red, green and blue discharge spaces. A plasma display panel comprises a front substrate(111), a front dielectric layer(114), a rear substrate(121), a rear dielectric layer(123), barrier ribs(124), and red, green and blue phosphors(125R,125G,125B). The front substrate has a surface on which sustain electrodes(112) are disposed at predetermined intervals. The front dielectric layer buries the sustain electrodes. The rear substrate is opposed to the front substrate, and has a surface on which address electrodes are arranged in the direction intersecting the sustain electrodes. The rear dielectric layer buries the address electrodes. The barrier ribs are arranged between the front substrate and the rear substrate so as to define discharge spaces. The phosphor layers are formed in the discharge spaces. The front dielectric layer is formed by stacking first to third coloring dielectric layers(141,142,143) sequentially from the front substrate. The front dielectric layer includes red, green and blue front dielectric layers(114R,114G,114B) which have different thicknesses in red, green and blue discharge spaces where the red, green and blue phosphor layers are formed, respectively. |
