<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a small size which prevents an image defect and ejection failure which are caused by a sheet ejected sliding against the bottom of the housing of a reading device, the image forming apparatus being such that the reading device is disposed in its upper part and the sheet with an image formed on it is ejected between the housing of the reading device and the main body of the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming means which forms images on sheets; a sheet ejection means for ejecting the sheets on which the images are formed by the image forming means; a sheet stacking section on which the sheets ejected by the sheet ejection means are stacked; and a reading means which is disposed in a housing located on the sheet stacking section and reads the image of a document.
