<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing cloth which has a high supporting amount of grinding abrasives and is excellent in polishing efficiency and suitable for high-precision finishing by keeping an appropriate abrasive retention force and cushioning ability when pressing the abrasives and making tension control easy in grinding, and which effectively works on a texture and minimizes scratch defects. <P>SOLUTION: The polishing cloth is structured so that a film is laminated on one of surfaces of a sheetlike material consisting of unwoven fabric made of three-dimensionally twined strands of extremely thin and short fibers with average fineness of a single fiber of 0.001-0.05 dtex and a polymer elastic substance present in its internal space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
