<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical multiplex transmission system and its manufacturing method which is easy to modify depending on its use, without using precision devices such as a condenser lens or a beam expander, by suppressing the remarkable reception degradations due to mode changes, even if the multimode optical fiber is bent. <P>SOLUTION: The optical multiplex transmission system uses a distributed refraction-index optical fiber 1, having optical signals La to Ld arranged one dimensionally in the Y-axis direction by laying it on the X-Z plane perpendicular to the Y axis, without bending it at all in the Y axis direction. As a result of this, the optical axis of the fiber 1 becomes always perpendicular to the oscillating direction in each propagating mode to enable it suppression of the influence of the mode changes due to the bending of the fiber 1. Thus, the optical multiplex transmission system can correctly receive the four optical signals La-Ld, outputted from the VCSEL array 10 with the detector array 20 via the single distributed refraction-index optical fiber 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
