<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always feed fresh developer to a photoreceptor drum by improving the replacement of developer in the vicinity of the magnetic poles of a stir member. <P>SOLUTION: The development device has in a development housing 60: a development roller 40; a screw feeder 30 which distributes toner over the entire length of the development roller 40 in the lengthwise direction; a toner receiving mixer 80 which rotates toner while stirring toner between the screw feeder 30 and the development roller 40, smoothly supplies the toner to the peripheral face of the development roller 40 by magnetic force induction, whereas the mixer 80 scrapes residual toner on the periphery of the development roller 40 with the repulsion of the magnetic force. The toner receiving mixer 80 includes: a cross-shaped support 81, which is turnable around an axis parallel to the development roller 40; a plurality of square barlike magnets 84 fixed to the leading ends of the support projections 83 of the cross-shaped support 81 at regular intervals in a circumferential direction so that the magnetic poles face outside; and tubes 85 which cover the barlike magnets 84 in close contact with them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
