<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust an exposure head by performing accurate measurement in a condition akin to actual printing. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is equipped with: the exposure head wherein a plurality of light-emitting elements corresponding to pixels of data on an image to be exposed are arranged as a light-emitting element array in a main-scanning direction, and wherein the light-emitting elements enable light from a light source to pass in accordance with an exposure driving condition; a sensor wherein light-receiving parts capable of detecting the light from the light-emitting elements are provided at intervals equivalent to/shorter than a main-scanning-direction arrangement interval between the light-emitting elements; a look-up-table-type correction table for computing the quantity of the light, emitted from the light-emitting elements, from the result of detection by the sensor, depending on input/output characteristics in the photoelectric conversion of the sensor; a light quantity measuring means for computing the quantity of the light, emitted from the light-emitting elements, from the result of the detection by the sensor via the correction table; and a control means for controlling the exposure driving condition of each light-emitting element in the formation of the image, in accordance with the result of measurement by the light quantity measuring means in the measurement of the quality of the light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
