<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction indicator for a vehicle implemented by a current existing lamp for the vehicle and indicating a turn angle of the vehicle automatically. <P>SOLUTION: This direction indicator for the vehicle is used to show a turn angle of the vehicle automatically. This direction indicator is provided with a sensor for sensing a turn angle of the vehicle, a control device asserting a control signal in accordance with direction of circuit, circuit angle, and vehicle speed by arbitrary selection, and a plurality of light emitting units connected with the control device and emitting light to constitute a variable pattern by responding to a control signal. The direction indicator can be realized by a lamp for the vehicle in which an indication lamp and a brake lamp or a head up display exist currently and can be assembled into existing accessory for the vehicle such as a rear-view mirror module or an auxiliary brake lamp module or can be independently mounted in the vehicle.
