<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an a active matrix substrate capable of preventing static destruction in rubbing treatment, to provide a manufacturing method of the active matrix substrate and to provide a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The active matrix substrate has a substrate, pixel electrodes provided on the substrate and auxiliary capacitances provided so as to correspond to the pixel electrodes. The auxiliary capacitance has an auxiliary capacitance electrode electrically connected to the pixel electrode, an auxiliary capacitance common electrode disposed so as to be opposed to the auxiliary capacitance electrode and a dielectric layer disposed between the auxiliary capacitance electrode and the auxiliary capacitance common electrode. The active matrix substrate further has an auxiliary capacitance common wiring connected to the auxiliary capacitance common electrodes, an upper conductive layer electrically connected to the auxiliary capacitance common wiring and an interlayer insulating layer provided between the pixel electrodes and the auxiliary capacitances and between the upper conductive layer and the auxiliary capacitances.
