PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving shaft provided with an additive optically-encoding ring. SOLUTION: The process comprises: preparing a driving shaft so as to comprise an encoding ring receiving region having at least one grooved ring having a groove in the axial direction; preparing the encoding ring to comprise at least one outer peripheral surface for optical encode on one side, a hole in the axial direction having an inner diameter smaller than the maximum diameter of a receiving region including the grooved ring on the other side, and an inner collar having a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the hole in the axial direction; subjecting the encoding ring to broaching process by the driving shaft at a level of the receiving region to engage the groove with a wall of the hole in the axial direction toward the inner collar without engaging the groove with the inner collar; and rolling the encoding ring on a surface of the encoding ring positioned on the opposite side to the inner collar to caulk the ring.
