PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat antenna system of an ultrathin type advantageous to miniaturization. SOLUTION: The flat antenna system 10 is roughly configured by arranging a rectangular inner conductor 12, a ground conductor 13 for surrounding the inner conductor 12, and a short circuit conductor 14 for short-circuiting a prescribed position of an outer circumferential edge 12a of the inner conductor 12 to an inner circumferential edge 13a of the ground conductor 13 onto a board 11 to connect the inner conductor 12 to a feeding circuit in the vicinity of the short circuit conductor 14 and to connect the ground conductor 13 to an earth circuit. A frame shaped slot 15 whose width is constant is demarcated between the outer circumferential edge 12a of the inner conductor 12 and the inner circumferential edge 13a of the ground conductor 13 almost over the entire circumference except a region wherein the short circuit conductor 14 exists, and selecting the length of a semicircle of the slot 15 to about 1/4 of the resonance electric length can realize a resonance state wherein an electric field traversing the slot 15 causes standing wave at the time of feeding.
