PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator wherein a defect by improper soldering is eliminated, a mount area of a circuit board is effectively utilized and the mounting density is increased. SOLUTION: A cavity 21 is formed in the middle of the circuit board 2 in the crystal oscillator 1 and an oscillation section 3 comprising a feedback amplifier is mounted in the cavity 21. Soldering is carried out to connect electrodes, respectively provided to a crystal vibrator 4 and other components 5 and made corresponding to electrodes of the circuit board 2, to the electrodes of the circuit board 2. Thus, the crystal vibrator 4 and the other components 5 are mounted on the circuit board 2. Further, the layout of the crystal vibrator 4 and the other components 5 is designed so that a loop distance of a circuit 6 is short and the interval of the other components 5 is wide, and the crystal vibrator 4 and the other components 5 are mounted along the surrounding of the oscillation section 3.
