PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the documents of intranets to be efficiently registered and taken out from the outside. SOLUTION: A document sharing management system of an intranet 101 is provided with; a plurality of external clients 106 connected to the Internet 107; a mail server 104 which is located in the intranet and transmits and receives E-mail to and from the plurality of external clients; and a document management server 102 which is connected to the mail server and the plurality of external clients through a LAN and registers and takes out documents in and from a plurality of internal clients 103, discriminates the titles of the E-mail received from the plurality of external clients through the mail server, and performs processing of registering a document included in a received E-mail in the case of a registration request, generating tabular information of documents and returning it by E-mail in the case of a table request, taking out documents and returning them by E-mail in the case of a taking-out request, and transmitting information of new documents and updated documents by E-mail.
