PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate calling of a portable terminal function regarding a portable terminal and a method and program for calling the portable terminal function. SOLUTION: The portable terminal is provided with a search engine. The search engine comprises a keyword table storing/maintaining keyword information corresponding to the function names of entire functions held by the portable terminal, an input character history storing means storing/maintaining search keywords input in the past and their using frequencies, a character complementing means for complementing a character string by assuming a word from the character string when inputting the character string of the search keywords via an input means, and outputting candidates of the search keywords, a search means for outputting the function names corresponding to the input search keywords by searching the keyword table, and for executing the function of the function name when selecting one of the function names among the output function names, a table updating means for adding, changing or deleting the keyword information in the keyword table by the input search keywords, and an outputting means.
