An adjustable door stop, e.g. for an internal door, comprises two coaxial sleeves acting directly on a door hinge to hold the door in a selected open setting. The stop has a long slotted sleeve (A, A1) and a shorter sleeve (C) and with the sleeves clamped together by a threaded fastener (E) with self locking nut and with a friction grip sleeve (D).
