<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an entertainment service combining face certification and face checking. <P>SOLUTION: A face certification function for extracting the features of the image of a face photographed by a camera is given to a cellular phone having a camera. The extracted features are transmitted to a server via a telephone function. A server accesses a database for storing the face images of characters such as a celebrity and an animal, compares the received features with the features of the character, and calculates the degree of similarity for each part of the face. The server transmits the image of a character having large degree of similarity, a part having large degree of similarity, and the ranking of the degree of similarity in a person who was similar to the character in the past to a cellular phone.
